Kofi Kingston Turning Point
This was a turning point of Kofi Kingstone: The push of WWE veteran Kofi Kingston continued at the Elimination Chamber as he delivered another noteworthy performance at Toyota Center in Houston. Kofi was the star of the whole match as he was the last man to be eliminated in the match and came very close to winning his first WWE Championship. Throughout the match, the crowd was firmly in favor of Kofi and there were vociferous chants of “Kofi, Kofi” even against crowd-favorites like AJ Styles and Jeff Hardy.
Kofi was a last-minute replacement for Mustafa Ali in the match but he grabbed his opportunity with both hands. Kofi even eliminated Randy Orton with a Trouble in Paradise. WWE provided Bryan with a great new green TitanTron as the company went all-in with his “Planet Champion” gimmick.
Bryan and Kofi were the last ones left in the Elimination Chamber and delivered easily the best match of the night with the 15 minutes they had. Both the wrestlers had a fantastic series of actions as they hit each other with their signature moves. It finally looked like Kingston would win his first WWE Championship in his long career. As you know he hit a Trouble in Paradise but Bryan again kicked out. Kingston tried to hit a splash from atop the pod, but Bryan dodged it. He then delivered the kill shot with a running knee to win the match and retain his title.
